M.Bassy opening with Debra Shaw & Alessandro Sgobbio

Coming from two distinct creative worlds — Debra Shaw from the international fashion scene and Alessandro Sgobbio from contemporary jazz — the two artists have joined forces to open a new chapter of artistic collaboration. Together, they inaugurated the very first M.Bassy event, marking the beginning of an international space for exchange and encounter in Hamburg. M.Bassy Salon offers a platform for artists from African countries and the diaspora, celebrating their voices, creativity, and cultural expressions.

In the 1990s, Debra Shaw was and is still one of the most in-demand models in the industry, working with nearly all major fashion houses. She appeared not only on runways but also in films such as Robert Altman’s Prêt-à-Porter and George Michael’s “Fast Love” music video. Today, she remains a highly sought-after model, fashion consultant and is now focusing her creative energy on her singing career.
