"African culture is often presented in museums, but the contemporary African cultural scene is not there," says Alex Moussa Sawadogo in an interview. As a guest at M.Bassy, the film expert and juror Alex Moussa Sawadogo presents a selection of his current favorite films and discusses their background and history with us.

Alex Moussa Sawadogo is an expert on contemporary cinema of the African continent. He is a juror and consultant for the Cannes Film Festival, Locarno, Burkina Faso, Marrakech or Busan. Since 2007, he has been organizing his own film festival "Afrikamera" in Berlin and since 2012 he is artistic director of the Operndorf Afrika in Burkina Faso. Sawadogo studied art history, archeology and media in Ouagadougou and later completed a master's degree in cultural and media management in Hamburg.
