SAMMUS (Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo) is rapper, producer and Professor of Music at the distinguished Brown University in the USA: Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo, better known as Sammus, is one of the most important contemporary voices of Afrofuturism. Born in New York State, she studied and earned her doctorate at Cornell University, which forms a part of the »Ivy League« stateside. She has released several albums and singles, as well as collaborating with a host of artists on projects involving music, film, podcasts and computer games.

AFROFUTURISM - THE VISION OF THE FUTURE
On Sunday, 23.10.2022 , 12.00 a.m., she will introduce Afrofuturism in her 90-minute interactive lecture at the Elbphilharmonie Kaistudio and explain its origins and its effects on society, culture and politics, including the question: How can we create a world free of oppression and exploitation? Finally, it gets creative: based on the impulses of the discussion, the participants create their very own sound with language and sounds. No previous knowledge is necessary, everyone is welcome.
