For the opening of the 9th Triennial of Photography Hamburg 2026, we are curating the music programme on 7 June 2026. We are delighted to welcome Seanie T x DJ Suro to the stage. Alliance, Infinity, Love – in the Face of the Other
The 9th Triennial of Photography Hamburg 2026, titled Alliance, Infinity, Love – in the Face of the Other, celebrates the creative potential of Alliance, Infinity, and Love, while calling for responsibility towards the Other. The festival seeks to amplify a broad spectrum of photographic voices — established and emerging, visible and overlooked— that challenge dominant narratives, reclaim forgotten perspectives, and foster dialogue across social and cultural divides.
DJ Suro and Seanie T share a long-standing musical collaboration, driven by a mutual passion for genre-crossing sounds spanning hip-hop, reggae, soul, dancehall and afrobeat. Seanie T’s LP “Ruff, Rugged & Smooth” was composed and produced by DJ Suro. While Seanie T became known for his innovative reggae-jungle mashup style, DJ Suro has been crafting a sound that connects people and cultures for years. Seanie T is also featured on DJ Suro’s debut solo album, set for release in 2026, alongside Nneka, Lutan Fyah, Bria and Brazen Rule. DJ Suro’s sets are rooted in diaspora, resistance, and cultural connection — energetic, danceable, and unifying. Music that brings people together and transforms the dance floor into a space of shared movement and encounter.
Seanie T
Seanie T is a creative music artist known for his innovative reggae-jungle mashup style. With a passion for delivering exceptional musical experiences, Seanie T's unique sound resonates with reggae music enthusiasts worldwide, creating a fusion of rhythms that captivate audiences and define musical boundaries. Consistently tearing up tracks with collaborators such as Roots Manuva, Blak Twang, Rodney P and Estelle, his inimitable vocal style of Hip-Hop Dancehall fusion has won him critical acclaim amongst fans and peers alike.
DJ Suro
DJ Suro’s journey behind the turntables began in 1998 in the vibrant city of Hamburg. From the very start, his passion for music transcended genres, moving fluidly through Hip Hop, Soul, Afrobeat, and Island Vibes. For DJ Suro, music is a universal language—one that bridges boundaries and unites people. An avid vinyl collector and dedicated producer, DJ Suro released two LPs as one half of „Pitch & Scratch“ (Légère Recordings) in 2009 and 2012. The LP „Ruff, Rugged & Smooth“ by Seanie T, released on Nice Up Records (UK) in 2019 was entirely composed and produced by DJ Suro. Standout singles like „Warning“ featuring Roots Manuva and „Veterans“ featuring the UK Allstars solidified his reputation as a producer with a global perspective. Between 2014 and 2018, DJ Suro held a coveted residency at Hamburg’s iconic Mojo Club, where he shared the stage with legends like Grandmaster Flash, Quantic, DJ Vadim, Large Professor, Nneka and Farhot. Now, DJ Suro is set to release his debut solo album in 2025—a project that promises to be both a celebration of his musical roots and a bold step forward. Featuring powerful voices like Nneka, Lutan Fyah, Seanie T, Bria, and Brazen Rule, the album is a sonic journey across continents, crafted with contemporary production and rooted in DJ Suro’s mission: to connect people and cultures through music.
