Roundtable

Hamburg artists Yolander Gutiérrez and Jens Dietrich developed, together with Rwandan director and author Dorcy Rugamba, an interdisciplinary performance PLANET KIGALI. A fusion of Rwandan tradition and contemporary dance (Premiere 12 December 2018 at Kampnagel). The practical side of this project started in a dance laboratory in Kigali, back in March 2018, where local artists spoke about their dance scene.

This discourse is continued at a round table at M.Bassy on the 23 November 2018. Representatives of Hamburg’s and Kigali’s dance scene will discuss and exchange the working conditions in their countries. Through their videos you will have the opportunity to look behind the scenes of their work processes in Kigali, while invited choreographers will talk about their own experiences in Hamburg’s dance scene. Everyone who is interested (not just professionals) is welcome to join the round table.
