Cooking & Talking Session with Angélique Kidjo at M.Bassy. We invite you to a discursive and culinary evening with the singer as part of her Reflektor Festival at the Elbphilharmonie, where she will enter into a dialogue with the British-Ugandan writer, journalist and musician Musa Okwonga about her music, African life in the diaspora, and whatever else moves them together. And that should be quite a lot, because in addition to his books, Okwonga has written numerous essays and articles on culture, racism and gender for newspapers such as the New York Times, Guardian and Die Zeit - in other words, on topics that Kidjo is also committed to.
Of course, music is not to be missed on this evening: It comes from Saliou Cissokho, who learned the tradition of playing the kora from his father in Senegal and now lives in Hamburg as a freelance musician and teacher.
The event will be held in English.
The event is fully booked.
